Turnbull stay or Turnbull go??

It has become evident that Paul Turnbull now feels at home again since he has been reunited with his childhood club County, Turnbull returned to Stockport in January following the arrival of Jim Gannon back to the club, since Paul’s return he has played 3 games for The Hatters as Jim tries to plug the hole found in the midfield following his return as manager.

Paul has stated that he is very happy at the club he once captained last season, in the summer of 2011 Paul left County to join up with league two strugglers Northampton, Paul started the season becomming a regular but since the appointment of Aidy Boothroyd, Paul has not feature in the team lading the pathway to his loan period at County.

Paul was first given the chance to impress the County fans in Jim’s fist spell at the club, Jim first gave Paul a chance at a hound age of 16, I following Paul’s arrival to the club at the age of 11. Last season Paul marked the 150 appearance mark for the club, throughout Paul’s time at the club he has faced challenges, with the inclusion in the line up at Wembley followed by three successive relegation campaigns.

Paul has stated to The Manchester Evening News that he is unsure about his future at Northampton and stated if the club remained in the division he would happily sign once again for the club he ‘loves”. Paul knows that his chances at Northampton may be limited stating that only 3 or 4 players remain in the starting 11 from the start of the season.

Paul has said ‘The lads are good (at county), me and Matty (Mainwaring) are enjoying it, and as long as the club stays in this league – and I’m happy – then hopefully we can sort something out for next year.’

With Paul unsure about his Northampton future he wants to do his best to try and help his ‘childhood’ club stay in the BSP and avid a third successive relegation in three years.
