Defenders Michael Bowler and Keith Briggs will not have their contracts renewed in January.

Briggs and Bowler were given short contracts running to the transfer window. Boss Jim Gannon had showed faith in the pair in allowing them to get fit after longterm injuries but upon returning, the pair have been unable to find a path into the first team.

Good luck to both Bowler and Briggs, Bwoler didn’t set the world alight but he gave his all. He made a total 18 senior apppearances.

And Keith Briggs could get the perfect oppurtunity to recieve a great send off from the County fans as Jason Taylor is injured for Saturdays game. Briggs has served the club since he was at the tender age of 15 years old, joining Norwich in between. He made a total of 164 appearances in the blue shirt.

The right back position is now open, with Liverpudlian Jamie Smith a candidate in the January transfer window.

Sad to see these two go, especially Briggs, At the club from 15 and 164 appearances. Hope Briggs starts on Saturday so we can give him a good send off.

Good luck to both, but I think we’ve made the right decision to let them go
