Bristol Rovers fan Charlie Gale gives us his view on what has been going on at the Memorial Stadium so far this season.

How has your season gone so far?

In terms of league position very disappointed at the moment, we started badly getting thrashed at Peterborough, looked to have picked up some form a few months ago but have since tailed off again. The playoffs suddenly seem a long way off. The cups have been a different story however, with good performances and results in all 3 culminating in the area final of the Johnstone`s Paint.

What’s your current form like?

Patchy at best. We have been performing ok but just don’t look like scoring enough (When we do we seem to concede a few as well)

Would you say that the JPT, especially with a local derby, is a distraction to the league?

Not until we got to the final. I think playing a lot of games close together recently may have affected us though as we have a very small squad

Rickie Lambert is an ex County player, and had very indifferent seasons in the County shirt. What have you made of him so far?

I think that he looks a good player, but probably wasn’t the player we needed at the time as he is too similar to Walker and it means we have no pace up front.

Who have been your key players this season?

Steve Phillips who joined from City is probably the best keeper in the league,
Stuart Campbell since he has been made captain has been incredible and dominates midfield, putting in man of the match performances every week.

Are there any key players out that would normally feature?

Had a few injuries at the back with Bryan Anthony having been out since Christmas, a very solid young defender

Do you have any memories of Stockport County?

A friend supports County so do have a soft spot for you. Last season I went up we won with a highly dubious penalty. Was glad to see that you survived though

Where should County fans go before the game?

Most pubs in the area are pretty friendly. There’s a nice sports bar on Nevil Road on the way to the cricket ground called the Sportsman though.

Prediction

I think that we may lose by a couple of goals due to your good recent form and us being distracted by the derby next week. Looking forward to being proved wrong though!
