A Euan Holden wonder-goal gave County all three points at Edgeley Park tonight.
Visitors Kettering started the game strongly and passed the ball around well for the first twenty minutes – County seemed to wake up and make their mark on the tie from then on.
In front of 3429, left-back Holden surged forward before bamboozling the Kettering centre-half and slotting home in the second-half.
Sol Davis of the away side was sent off for a cynical lunge on man-of-the-match Jon Routledge, and County kept a firm grip on the slender lead as the match came to an end.
It’s a first win for Didi Hamann, and we go up to 6th in the league table!
Animo et Fide!
