Tomorrows encounter at Edgeley Park sees Stockport take on promotion hopefuls Wrexham FC, Wrexham currently sit in second place in the Slue Square Premier just two points of leaders Fleetwood with one game in hand.

his season has been a strange one for Wrexham with lots of issues off the pitch regarding the finances of the club, but on the pitch they have been doing very well, their points tally of 74 points from 32 games represent their work on the pitch. Last time out this season Wrexham beat County 4-0 in North Wales on a warm October`s afternoon, since this Wrexham have only lost 1 in 15 league games.

Wrexham currently sit 17 places above Stockport in the league with 45 points separating the two sides. Wrexham currently have 74 points, on the road this season Wrexham have only dropped points on three occasions from 13 away visits, loosing twice and drawing once, scoring 37 and conceding 18 on their travels.

Andy Morrell is Wrexham`s player manager and is also their second top scorer this season with 10 league goals to his name, Morrell was appointed manager after winning 7 of his 9 games in charge as caretaker manager following Dean Saunders move to Doncaster Rovers earlier this season. Morrell has no injury worries for tomorrow`s game and has a full squad to choose from.

Stockport will be without a number of key first team players tomorrow with Danny O`Donnell and Joe Connor out through injury following last week`s misery at York. Andy Halls also took a knock but is looking to face Wrexham tomorrow.

For tomorrows game the services of Paul Turnbull and Matty Mainwaring will be at County`s advantage following their loan extensions and Jordan Rose will also look to be included in the starting line up following his signature for the club on non contract terms.

County boss Jim Gannon said: ‘Most of the game against York we denied them the opportunity to play, which was important in terms of getting something out of the game. Wrexham will be an equally tough test. ‘I went to see them on Tuesday,’ he continued, ‘Another 1-0 win, based on skill, energy, hard work, being well organised and good players playing their positions well. ‘That’s been the difference and the reason they’d been top of the league for so long. But I feel that if we play the way we have in the last 5 games we have every chance to get a positive result.’

Tomorrow will be a test for County but with Wrexham supposedly bringing over 1500 fans there will be a good atmosphere around the ground, I feel that County will be weak at the back and I am optimistic that County will be able to walk away from tomorrows game with anything more than a loss, but I live in hope.

I predict that the line up for tomorrow will be:

Ormson

alls Rose Pieregianni Holden

urnbull Nolan

ainwaring Sheridan McConville

lliot

FT Score: County 0 Wrexham 2 (5400)

If we pick up a point that will send me home happy. Is Gritton going to feature after his Cheshire cup run out?
