Bignall Back As Ablett Eyes Win

County have been boosted by the return of on-loan youngster Nicholas Bignall to the squad for Saturday’s trip to Brentford.

The 19 year-old’s impressed since his move from Reading, scoring twice and putting himself about as a lone striker for the Hatters. Peter Thompson was drafted back into the starting eleven in Bignall’s absence due to a hamstring strain, and though the Northern Irish striker puts in all the effort, it just doesn’t work with him up there.

Bignall returned to training on Wednesday and will probably start on Saturday as Gary Ablett takes his young side down to Griffin Park.

Ablett’s confident of picking up three points, though he knows that County are a bit of a Jekyll & Hyde side at Edgeley Park and then playing away, saying he’s ‘never sure which Stockport team will turn up.’

Speaking to County’s official site, the ex-Liverpool reserve team boss said: ‘Our last away game we got a really good three points at Tranmere and a decent performance too. But as I’ve said to the players our only consistency at the moment is our inconsistency as you don’t know which Stockport team is going to turn up from one game to the next.’

‘Brentford are a good side, one of the better footballing sides in the division, so it’s going to be a tough game but I’ve told the players to go there and be positive.’

Come on County!
