County bag another point

A great result for County. We really are the draw specialists now but a point at the O’s has to be viewed as a bonus point. I really couldn’t see us getting anything form this so well done lads! Lets hope now that the level of confidence throughout the club means we can get Edgeley Park back to the fortress it needs to be.

Twice County trailed to the league leaders but twice Turner’s battling boys showed their resilience to come away with a precious away point.

County went behind midway through the second half when the unlucky Michael Raynes misqueued Jabo Ibehre’s cross and sent the ball past Spencer in goal.

As expected Orient dominated the most of the first half and Spencer did well to deny Shane Tudor whilst Gary Alexander and Michael Simpson both missed the target when a goal looked likely.

Half time Orient 1 County 0. Well what did you expect? Well not this because ten minutes after the restart Rob Clare headed the County level after he had lost his marker from a Matt Hamshaw free kick. Minues later Tes Bramble saw an overhead kick saved by Glynn Garner as County enjoyed a spell of pressure. Could we nick a win at Orient were my thoughts but calamity on 62 minutes as Tudor took a free kick quickly and John Mackie tapped in at the far post. Maybe County of the last few seasons would have folded at this point but Turners new emerging side went straight back onto the attack and Jermaine Easter levelled immediately as he headed home a Harpel Singh cross.

Comedy moment next as one of the floodlights failed and the match was played out in gloomy conditions, neither side could nick a winner although Daryl McMahon did hit the bar for Orient a minute from time. That would have been cruel on County as a point was deserved.

This report was from Acker (Dave S.) by phone. Thanks to Dave for this especially as he said he could only make this one call.

Low battery I guess.

Well, what Arthur gathers from this is that we are capable of scoring against anyone in the division, IF the defence can be tightened and if the confidence in the side comes back Edgeley Park will become a placed feared by the opposition and mid table finish is not beyond this County side.

And on the sunny note its off to the allotment for a bit of tidying up

Up the Hatters!
