County Chase Donnelly

Tony Evans has confirmed that the club have lodged an enquiry regarding the availability of George Donnelly of Fleetwood Town.

Evans asked fans on Twitter which striker they would prefer at Edgeley Park, with a straight choice of Jamie Vardy or George Donnelly. Here on this site, we conducted a poll asking the same question. An overwhelming 74% voted for Donnelly, and we subsequently forwarded those results on to Mr Evans.

Evans stated that Didi Hamann and assistant Willie McStay would discuss a move for one of the two, and has now gone on to reveal that County are now in the process of attempting to bring back former fans favourite Donnelly to EP.

We believe the 23 year-old is priced at around £50k. Burton Albion, Huddersfield Town and Ipswich are just a few of the clubs linked with Halifax attacker Vardy, who is valued by his club at around a quarter of a million.

* County lost 3-2 at EP to a Bolton Wanderers reserve side. In an impressive performance, Danny Rowe and Martin Gritton bagged for The Hatters. A number of trialists were in the side for County, and were keen to impress.
