Tony Evans has confirmed that the club have lodged an enquiry regarding the availability of George Donnelly of Fleetwood Town.

Evans asked fans on Twitter which striker they would prefer at Edgeley Park, with a straight choice of Jamie Vardy or George Donnelly. Here on this site, we conducted a poll asking the same question. An overwhelming 74% voted for Donnelly, and we subsequently forwarded those results on to Mr Evans.

Evans stated that Didi Hamann and assistant Willie McStay would discuss a move for one of the two, and has now gone on to reveal that County are now in the process of attempting to bring back former fans favourite Donnelly to EP.

We believe the 23 year-old is priced at around £50k. Burton Albion, Huddersfield Town and Ipswich are just a few of the clubs linked with Halifax attacker Vardy, who is valued by his club at around a quarter of a million.

* County lost 3-2 at EP to a Bolton Wanderers reserve side. In an impressive performance, Danny Rowe and Martin Gritton bagged for The Hatters. A number of trialists were in the side for County, and were keen to impress.

  • Would like to know who some the the players where last night, a couple of them looked quite good, a bit disappointed that we where told a strong Bolton side would be coming but only the reserves turned up but on hole we played well passed the ball very well and looked half decent at times even though Gritton scored there is something about him I don’t like but thats just me, great news on Donnelly if it is true.

  • £250k for Vardy? Your having a laugh. Donnelly please, £50k is the right price. Can I also ask could we sign Stephen Husband on loan again? And what’s happening with Sean Kinsella, he went on loan with us at the start of July and nothing since, it might of been because it was a Ray Mathias target and not a Didi Hamann.

  • Got to say getting Donnelly would be a bonus. But I still believe we are short of firepower (I agree footballtaz1, there’s something about Gritton that doesn’t inspire me either!).
Kremb, yes Husband would be great but really don’t see him coming to the BSP nor do I see Kinsella or now (sob) Paterson coming. Understand that Didi might have one or two more surprises up his sleeve.

  • Just been told the take over has been held up by a former ex vice chairman, what else can go wrong just hope Mr Evans does not loose interest.

  • or not.. its next week. Sorry, my bad haha. I keep thinking its starting this week because of the Football League.

  • @Kremb some local pubs may have it on? or be a devil and come along to the game I can see us having more fans than them there.

  • @footballtaz1 I can’t afford to come along unfortunately 🙁 I could try the pubs I guess. I would still prefer an online stream though.
