County return to league action for the first time at Edgeley Park since the 2-2 draw with Accrington Stanley 18 days ago.

County have played their last two league games away from home including a 2-1 defeat to Burton and a defeat at Gillingham by the same scoreline.

Simpson himself has labelled the game at home to Barnet as a ‘critical match’ largely due to the fact another defeat for County will send Barnet, who currently lie in the relegation Zone, above the Hatters on Saturday.

Vital Quotes:

‘The next run of games is huge,’ said Simpson. ‘The four league games coming up are massive games starting with Barnet. They are battling for everything at the moment and they`ve got some good players.

‘We`ve got to go out to win those games,’ he added. ‘We`ve played a 4-4-1-1 system in the last two games but it was still a system that I thought could go out and get a result.

‘We`ll work hard between now and Saturday to find the best striking partnership for George Donnelly and approach the game positively.

‘It`s an ideal opportunity to get that seven-month monkey off our backs and get a home win.

County Team News:

Paul Simpson has no new injury or suspension worries ahead of the game against Barnet.

On loan midfielder Anthony Pulis scored on his debut last week and looks set to keep his place in the side.

Player to watch: Paul Turnbull

It’s hard to pick a player to watch at the moment as you never know just which side Paul Simpson will pick.

Paul Turnbull has been in fine form recently scoring a couple of goals in the past few games but players like Matty Mainwaring and Greg Tansey must begin to offer more or they could find their place under threat.

Barnet Team News:

Barnet welcome back midfielders Glen Southern from a facial injury and on-loan Michael Byrne from suspension.

Striker Steve Kabba (ankle), midfielder Glenn Poole (thigh) and defender Daniel Leach (ankle) are amongst those on a lengthy injury list.

Player to watch: Mark Marshall

Has scored four goals in all competitions this season for The Bees and could be their danger man.
