County Gain Point With 10 Men

Stockport County overcame the first half dismissal of midfielder Alex Kenyon to gain a battling point at Ebbsfleet on Saturday.

Darije Kalezic brought in Cirak in replacement for Mark Cullen, as the young Hull loanee was rested following a tough run of games recently.

In truth it was a drab game with a very picky referee. Kenyon was given a straight red for supposedly leading with his elbow into a challenge, whilst Halls, Fagbola and Cirak also picked up yellow cards.

Liam Enver-Marum and Josh Scott had the best chances for Ebbsfleet, but the tale of the tape is that too many draws will cost Ebbsfleet this season and more than likely see them go down.

Johan Hammer made his County debut as he was brought on at half time to replace Hattersley as County went more defensive in the second half.

Connor Jennings, in his last game for County, had a couple of good half chances in the second half, before County nearly took the lead in bizarre circumstances through a mis-placed back pass that went just wide of the Ebbsfleet goal.

However the game drifted to an end without a real threatening spell from Ebbsfleet, and all in all it will be a point gained for Darije Kalezic’s men.
