In reality it was expected that after County’s hectic last few weeks, and the recent good run in the league, a defeat would come in one of the more difficult games.

With a few injuries on the books and County carrying a couple of knocks, a game against 5th placed Forest Green was always going to prove difficult for Jim Gannon’s men – especially away from home.

The game was over before it had really started. After just 25 minutes County found themselves 3-0 down.

Yan Klukowski, a Craig Hobson own goal and James Norwood put the home side 3-0 up and County had a huge challenge on their hands to just get a point let alone three.

Jordan Fagbola was given the hook after just 16 minutes – his mistake costing County the first goal. Jim Gannon later explained he was a young lad doing a mans job. As expected again a mistake was coming fairly soon.

Tom Collins won County a penalty in the second half and Sean Newton converted to make it 3-1 and with County having chances there was a brief hope of a comeback.

It didn’t last very long when Reece Styche made it 4-1 and finished the game off for Forest Green.

County moved down to 12th whilst Forest Green moved up to 3rd. Next week County take on Nuneaton, who are bottom of the league, and should have an easier task on their hands.
