Stockport County visit another County, Notts County, today in an attempt to continue their recent good form.
County come off the back of two straight wins against Morecambe and Wrexham, whereas Notts County have won just one of their last nine games.
The last time County won at Meadow Lane was in the promotion season of 97, when a 90th minute Graeme Hogg own goal gave County the three points. Jim Gannon was in the starting 11 that day, but today he will manage.
Jim Gannon on his four new players: ‘All those new guys are young, very hungry, and driven.
‘I’ve been excited by these signings for a few weeks now and I’m delighted to have all these lads on board now.
‘It’s great to have such a talented bunch of players available, we’ve got every chance this season now.’
Speaking to StockportCounty.Com, Jim Gannon also said of Notts County: ‘We are expecting a tough game on Saturday.’
‘Notts County seem to have tightened up, and toughened up.
‘They have got a hard-working unit and the new manager has got them well drilled.’
‘They will play a classic 4-4-2, with a big man and little man up front, and a sitter and a runner in midfield.’
‘They will be a tough prospect and won’t make it easy for anyone because they are desperate for points.’
