Edgeley welcomes the Swans

So James Spencer is back between the sticks for FA Cup Round 1 against Swansea City.

With County shipping more goals than any other League Club so far this season I imagine the young Mr Spencer will be seeing rather a lot of the ball. Lets hope the ball reamins the right side of the goal line though.

Spencer has been quoted as saying ‘I was disappointed to be left out of the team and I’ve been waiting for the change to get back in’

Spencer continues ‘The problem is that there are only two ways back in for a goalkeeper – the other guy doesnt perform or he gets injured – and really you dont want either to happen to a team-mate. Carl [Ikeme] has had a rough time as of late, but he’s only young like me and I am sure he will bounce back from it’

Mr Brownlow feals young Ikeme may do his bouncing back elsewhere!

It should be remembered that although County do face a high flying and free-scoring side from a division above they are unbeaten at Edgeley Park and have only lost 4 times this season.

Defender Michael Raynes has recovered from a dead leg and will be back to keep an eye on that Lee Trundle character. Never ‘eard of ‘im mesel.

Keith Briggs is also fit and available for selection but Tes Bramble will be out for a week or so.

Arthur says County to give Swansea a shock and move through to round two on the back of a 2-1 victory. And Arthur said that when he was sober.

See you all down EP tomorrow and of course round the Market 8pm ish.

Up the Hatters!
