It may have escaped some (me included) but there was a big County birthday a couple of days ago.
The Danny Bergara stand was opened 80 years ago, 24th October 1936.
The original wooden structure was destroyed in a fire in 1935, but the Main Staind was re-opened on October 24, 1936.
The stand of course, now bears the name of club legend Danny Bergara.
I know some jokingly refer to the stand as the ‘Moan Stand’ but I personally love watching football from the side and have migrated there from the Pop-side a few years ago and I love it.
( In desperation you can also hit the pubs of Edgeley more quickly than other parts of the ground! )
So happy birthday to the Danny Bergara Stand!

Now, that is not all. I would like to draw your attention to the following (with thanks as ever to Ian Brown and his sterling communication work !)
‘The Supporters Cooperative’s` County Quiz Night will be up and running at 5.30 pm after the Kidderminster game this Saturday.
The venue is the excellent Spinning Top ( near the Garrick Theatre on the A6).
There are good prizes to be had…..a raffle, and food available to go with the real ale ( including the County Co Hop).
So…if you have not entered a team you can do so on the night, but you would help the organisation a tad if you would pre enter.
Individuals are welcome to turn up and take part.
To do so will cost you £ 4, which will go towards the Guardian Account ( currently almost at £30000)
The cost….£20 per team ( max 5)/ Individuals £4.
