County’s away game at Tranmere Rovers on the 9th October has now been moved to Monday 12th to be shown live on Sky Sports.
The game will now be screened as a 7:45pm kick off at Prenton Park rather than the original 3pm on the Saturday.
*Gary Ablett has been offically named as new County manager.
Ablett will be unveiled at a press conference this week, and speaking to County’s offical site, new owner Jim Melrose said:
‘After a lengthy process I am delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Ablett as the new manager of Stockport County.
‘Gary has a fantastic pedigree, having enjoyed a career at the very highest level and he has a big reputation for the quality of his coaching at Liverpool and Everton over the last few years.
‘Above all Gary impressed us with his approach to coaching and improving players, his man management skills and his ambition.
‘We are delighted to have attracted a coach of Gary’s calibre and look forward to an exciting season ahead.
‘This appointment should underline our ambition and I’m sure it will be welcomed by the players, whose attitude since returning for pre-season training has been absolutely superb.’
