Down Before The Christmas Decorations

County continue to sink down the League One table with a simple 2-0 win for hosts Colchester Utd to move the U’s into 3rd in the table.

Considering we haven’t scored more than 1 in a league game since September, the game was as good as over in the 3rd minute when Kevin Lisbie curled his effort into the far corner of fon Williams’ goal. Easy as you like.

And five minutes later it was 2-0, fon Williams continuing his bad run of form as he failed to catch a simple cross from the right and Clive Platt was on hand to tap in. It could have been a long night, but a gutsy Paul Turnback performance in front of the back four helped prevent any futher damage.

So we slip down to 23rd, just 1 point above 24h placed Tranmere. Oh joy. Sorry for the indifferent tone tonight, I can’t muster up any enthusiasm what-so-ever and I’m sure most of you’ll agree.

We move on to hopefully a morale-boosting win, hopefully(!), at home to Torquay in the 2nd round of the FA Cup this Saturday.

From 5th in League One this time last year, to 23rd in the table and a squad of youngsters that should really be developing in the YT Squad round about now. I hope everyone involved in sticking us in this mess are happy. Well done lads.

But let’s not blame Mr Ablett and his young side. There can be no blame apportioned to these lot at all. They’re all doing their best in a sh*te situation, but as you can probably sense from this ‘report’, I and a lot of other County fans feel a huge anger and frustration at this mess – but who do we direct it all to?

I hate this. Sorry about the report, or lack of it, but I just can’t stand what’s going on at the moment and I dunno who to vent my anger to whatsoever!

Precisely. We are impotent as fans but I can feel my anger growing too. Odds on us relegated this year but as you say Gary Ablett and the lads deserve our support. They are not to blame for this situation!
Down by beginning of March I will predict.

Just how important is reaching round 3 of the FA cup and a possible money spinner?
