Going to the Shay?

County travel across the M62 to Halifax to take on FC Halifax Town (Halifax Town in your old money).

I have always enjoyed my visits to the Shay, even a winters evening fixture (warmed by Theakstons Old Peculiar of course) so it will be nice to return to a club very much on the up, and with a recent history even more calamitous than our own.

Wikipedia details the Shaymen’s fall and rise, and now of course FC Halifax Town play in a league above the Hatters.

It’s a 3pm kick off, Saturday August 3rd – so stick HX1 2YS in your sat nav (or get the rattler from Manchester Victoria) and let’s see just how far Ian Bogie’s team have gelled.

I’d be content with a draw and another clean sheet to be honest – on paper this should be a testing fixture.

There is a Fans Forum this Tuesday (6th August) at EP… doors open at 7:30. Ian Bogie, Alan Lord and Terry Mitchell will be there, along with the entire first team squad. So a couple of tables then…
