Hatters look to get back on track

Paul Simpson will be determined to follow up September’s decent showing when he takes his Hatters side to the Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.

County have lost just one of their last six league games, that defeat coming during last weekend’s trip to Burton.

Simpson himself will be even more determined to taste victory at Gillingham this weekend after missing out on the League Two manager of the month award, to Port Vale’s Micky Adams.

Vital Quotes:

‘Manager of the month awards are nice because it means that the players are doing things properly.’

“Credit to them for the way they`ve been through September. What we`ve got to ensure is that the month of October is not a horrible month for us.”

Gillingham Team News:

Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler has a host of injury problems ahead of the visit of Stockport.

Striker Adebayo Akinefenwa (groin) and midfielder Curtis Weston (flu) are doubts, while Danny Spiller (Achilles) joins the lengthy injury list.

Player to watch: Adebayo Akinfenwa

The Gills striker is always dangerous and an out of form County defence could well be his next victims.

County Team News:

Stockport could hand a debut to midfielder Anthony Pulis, who has joined on loan from Southampton.

Fellow midfielder Jamie Proctor has returned to Preston after completing his two-month loan spell at the club.

Player to watch: George Donnelly

Donnelly has been in fine form this season and looks one of County’s few dangerous players. Give the lad half a chance and your expecting the net to bulge.

Any news on the date for the Johnsons Paint thingy – Are we still playing Accrington???

Love to get a point down there. The Gills have shipped loads of goals away from Priestfield but are pretty decent at home. A 0-2 defeat from me I am afraid.

As for the Johnson Paint pot… no idea. Hope it remains Stanley and not Tranmere.
