Hereford vs County

County will be looking to break another record at Edgar Street tomorrow, as The Hatters could set a club record seven straight away wins if they win tomorrow.

The in-form Bulls, winning 5 on the trot until the midweek 1-0 loss to Dagenham, have recently signed ex County favourite Stevie Gleeson on loan. Herefords loan system, which has come under criticism from most notably Shrews manager Gary Peters, includes the loan signings of West Brom forward Sherjill MacDonald, Theo Robinson, Gleeson, Robbie Threllfall, Lee Collins, Toumani Diagouraga and Gary Hooper.

County will (apparently) be backed by a big set of away fans tomorrow. After the 2-0 win at Accrington, County lie in 7th place, with one game in hand over Chesterfield, but Rochdale have two games in hand on us and lie 3 points below us. And we play them a week Tuesday. Its complicated.

Vital Quotes:

Jim Gannon: ‘John Ruddy’s presence in goal has galvanised our defence. And I know the fans enjoyed the performance of our other loan player Shaleum Logan, who showed he can be as good on the right wing as he is at right back.’

‘I am really looking forward to this game. It will be two really good football teams, young and skilful. There’s pressure on them to beat us after they lost at Dagenham in midweek. Before that they had won five on the trot. I think there will be a lot of goals.’

Graham Turner: ‘The important thing is not to lose two on the trot {after the Dag & Red defeat}, there is still alot of football to be played between now and the end of the season.

‘We start again on Saturday, which won’t be easy, but we’ve got to be ready.’

Hereford Team News:

Centre half Dean Beckwith is unavailable due to suspension tomorrow.

Graham Turner has no new injury concerns, but Steve Guinan is still out so emergency loan signing Gary Hooper will play after scoring six goals in seven games for United.

Midfielder Luke Webb is also still out with a hamstring injury.

Player to watch: Sherjill Macdonald

Macdonald is on loan from West Bromwich Albion at the moment for The Bulls, and boss Graham Turner has been recently looking to renew Macdonalds loan deal to last longer.

Macdonald recently scored a hattrick for the Bulls, and has been in blistering form.

County Team News:

Striker/defender Matty McNeil has recently been diagnosed with tendonitis in his right knee, so he is set for a long period on the sidelines.

Winger David Poole could finally return after training this week. He has recovered from a knee injury.

Rob Clare has been given the nod by Man Uniteds medical specialist to go ahead with further treatment on his injury plagued knee.

Player to watch: Shaleum Logan

What a player. Logan was on top form against Accrington, looking comfortable with both feet, and playing some pinpoint balls in to the box, especially for Dicko’s opener.

One thing though is that I can’t see how on earth he is a defender. He has a good tackle, but with his pace and trickery, he looks more suited to an attacking forward!
