Ins and Outs at EP

Another busy week at Edgeley Park sees a popular player leave, a new member of the backroom staff join, and the arrival of a highly rated youngster.

Alex Kenyon has left County to join Morecambe. Alongside Fagbola, I could not fault Kenyon for last seasons dismal fare. He has talent. He showed commitment. He deserves to be playing football at a higher
level.

I had a sneaky feeling he may just stay for this season, and I am certain Ian Bogie would have liked to have kept him but I am guess most County fans will wish him well.

On the flip side Ian Bogie has secured the services of Terry Mitchell as first team coach.

Mitchell previously worked with Bogie at Gateshead in the same capacity.

Good to see our gaffer continuing to shape the playing side of the club but it is encouraging that the club can now afford another member of the management team. I do hope this is a sign that off the field Stockport County are not on life-support.

Perhaps the most interesting signing though is of the addition of ‘ highly rated teenage striker Rhys Turner’ .

By all accounts this 18 year old forward from Myerscough College could be a real talent in the making.

When Alan Lord says this ‘Of all the players we have taken from Myerscough there is no-one better, there will be no need for floodlights at Edgeley Park next season as Rhys will light up the ground ‘ I think we need to pay attention.

I cannot remember another quote like that from Mr Lord !

However the other noteworthy part of the signing is that Help The Hatters are funding the players wages.

If County get a fee for the player then HTH get their money back.

What an innovative idea and for the umpteenth time thank you to the guys and gals at Help The Hatters.

With fans like those this club will never disappear.
