It’s Nearly Here!

It`s never too early is it? With just over a month to go till the start of the season, some bookmakers are already giving odds on the first match of the season!

But we can walk round for the month knowing we are favourites for the first game against Hereford! Coral make us 6/5 favourites for the win, whilst the Hereford win is at 9/5 and the draw is at 11/5.

Before any league games we have to successfully negotiate all the pre-season training and friendlies hoping not to pick up too many injuries. We have the tour to Ibiza for a week, we then come back and play Woodley Sports, Leicester City, Cheadle Town, Hednesford Town and Tranmere Rovers.

The squad is also looking abit on the thin side, with one goalkeeper, nine defenders, six midfielders and four strikers. Of those 20 players, seven didn`t play a very big part (two of them weren`t even here) in the season.

On the bright side we have sold 2,400 season tickets so if we are short of any players we could always pull a few from the crowd. The offer when you could get your season ticket has now finished and the premium prices have been put in place.

In the Cheadle End (the cheapest, but probably the best if you like singing, drinking beer and eating plastic) you are looking at £310 for an adult season-ticket, and £60 for an under 16`s season ticket. Infact under 16`s season tickets are the same price everywhere in the ground, but the adult season tickets are at £330 for the Popside and £350 for the Main Stand. Other deals are available for families.

Two league games have been moved to a Friday night. Accrington Stanley at home (who are they?) has been moved forward to the 18th August (Friday) with kick-off at 7:45pm. Chester City away has been moved to a Friday night aswell. Friday 17th November is the new date with kick off also at the usual 7:45pm time. Chester probably moved it to a Friday because they couldn`t handle the invasion of the County fans again and a Dickinson last minute winner to put a cherry on the top!

And finally (because my fingers are getting tired) Matthew Hamshaw has signed for Mansfield. A few blows at County were mentioned such as “moving to a club with ambition” “I don`t care what happens there this season (County) as long as Mansfield finish in the top three”

Top three? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
