Peterborough Utd are looking to add to their capture of Tommy Rowe with the signings of County defender Josh Thompson and Oli Johnson.

Darren Ferguson raided County for Rowe a few months back, stealing the winger for £150k, and are now looking at the County duo for around £600k.

‘Boro owner Darragh MacAnthony has already seen two bids for Johnson and one bid for Thompson rejected by the County administrators, with SCFC holding out for £450k for Johnson and at least £400k for Thompson.

Macanthony blasted County this week for their differing evaluations on Johnson:

‘We also put a solid £250,000 bid in for the Stockport striker, but again they wanted £400,000 which I thought was madness for a player that played 15 times last season and cost them nothing nine months ago.’

Oh, well…

Apologies Darragh, sorry we didn’t let you financially bully us again like you did with Tommy Rowe. Talk about greedy, how about stealing a club’s players for less than half their value because we’re in administration? Basically, ‘Boro put in a frankly cheeky bid, expecting 100% that we’d take whatever we could get and snap your hands off with gratitude.

Better luck next time, eh Darragh.
