We speak to Vital Tranmere editor James Tompkins, how will our North Western neighbours cope in League One this season?

Name: James Tompkins

How long have you supported your team? The best part of 20 years

Five words to describe last season?Nearly but not quite there.

Best point of last season?

Strength of last season? Our defence. We were solid through out and conceded very few but conceded most games though.

Weakness of last season? Strikers. Got in some good positions but failed to convert them into chances. It was shocking!

Current terrace favourite in your side? Chris Greenacre. He has equalled John Aldridges record of  being the club’s top scorer for three consecutive seasons.

One player you`d happily drive to his next club? With the squad our size we can’t afford to drive anyoe away. If I had to though I would bundle Adnan Ahmed into the back of my car.

One thing you would tell your team`s manager? Have faith in your youth players and put them on earlier in the game.

Young player to look out for this season? Terry Gornell has had an impressive time in the reserves this season and has just signed on as a pro.l With our squad size, I think he may be involved.

Hope for this season?Sneak into the playoffs.

Expectation for this season? Challenge for the playoffs.

Who is going to win League One? Huddersfield

Who is going down? Crewe, Walsall, Hartlepool and Cheltenham

Where will you finish? 13th
