Six Pointer!

County travel to Mansfield Town on Saturday for a genuine six-pointer.

Its not even December and people are already talking ‘6-pointers’ with regards to County’s trip to Field Mill to face Mansfield Town.

The Stags are one point and one place below County and are sure to be up for a match with Chris Turners boys. A win for the Hatters might just see the County bandwagon get into second gear. County are unbeaten in three and are on the back of a very creditable draw at high flying Orient.

Vital Quotes:

Turner says ‘Saturday’s a big game, but people make it big by looking at the table. I see Saturday as an opportunity for us to pull away from the bottom two, from Mansfield in particular’

‘It would be nice to get a result, we played very well at Orient on Saturday and after the FA Cup game [Hereford] we’ve got two home games on the bounce so hopefully we can pick up a few more points’

Mansfield Team News:

Ross Greenwood may well be in the side after limping out of last staturdays game with Orient with a leg injury. Initially the injury was though to be possibly a fracture but a scan revealed nothing so the right-back spot may be Greenwoods.

Frenchman Michael Wolski also looks like being available for selection after a bacterial infection, so the only definite player missing will be Tony Vaughan. Defender Vaughan has suffered a reverse in his recovery form a knee problem.

Player to watch: The Back Four

Time for a clean sheet. We know County can score goals but its time for the defence to impress.

County Team News:

Three of the last four L2 games have been victories for the Stags – they are on the up after a terrible start under a certain C.Palmer.

Player to watch: Allan Russell

On load from Macclesfield and with a point to prove

Match Facts & Stats

County have a very poor record at Field Mill – the last four games there have resulted in defeat.

Match Prediction:

Mansfield on the up. A ground we don’t do too well at. Yet County are picking up… guess what… another draw this time 1 each.

Arthur will not be attending as he is off to stay with his sister in Bournemouth and Acker is still not back from London so the match report will have to be written by a site journalist. No doubt from the South East.

We deserve better then this!

Why not mail a match report in and maybe it will get published
