County have been drawn at home to face either Wrexham or Southport on Saturday 10th January in the second round of the F.A. Trophy (the last 32)
Great news that we are at Edgeley Park – a decent crowd should be in attendance and provide another boost to the club’s coffers.
In some respects I would love us to face Wrexham, a tough draw for sure but the Welsh club would bring decent support and make for a great atmosphere.
The potential downside I can see though is the policing required and the costs from that operation draining part any financial benefit away.
Southport (who knocked us out of the Trophy a couple of years ago) will be a lower profile game and perhaps a team we have more chance against?
Either way, competition from a side a division above will provide a stern test.
Wrexham play Southport tonight (Tue 16th at 19:45) so we will find out soon enough!
