County recorded their second win of the pre-season against Cheadle Town.

It was much a different team from the Friday night, when it was the turn of the players who were sat on the bench on Friday to start.

Adam Le Fondre gave County the lead and gave the game its only goal after 10 minutes with a perfectly hit volley from around 20 yards, the Cheadle Town keeper had no chance.

Le Fondre should have really scored again, but he ruined his chance when he had only the Town keeper to beat.

Dickinson also had a chance, but his low drive went wide of the post.

At half time it had been mainly County dominating, and it continued this way in the second half.

Trialist Dawson had a good shot from about 20 yards well saved by the Cheadle keeper, then Dawson nearly scored again when he took the ball round the keeper but the Cheadle defence did well to clear the ball off the line.

Cheadle nearly grabbed an equaliser late on in the second half, but Rob Clare saved County`s blushes and kept the score line at 1-0.

It`s now on to Hednesford Town on Tuesday night, before Tranmere Rovers visit Edgeley Park on Saturday and then it`s the season starting the following Saturday – can`t wait!

Good to see we have got our first win under the belt (excluding the farce against the spanish pub team). Hopefully Le Fondre can also take the confidence he must have gained from that strike and get more goals this season.

We will see this season whether Le Fondre has got what it takes. I think its the physical side of things he needs to work on. Get some steak and egg breakfasts eaten and get on them weights!
