County have issued a plea for Hatters fans to get down to Edgeley Park and help clear the snow and ice from the terraces before Monday#s clash with League leaders Leeds Utd.

Fans had originally answered a plea to take a shovel down to the ground and help clear the snow and ice off the pitch to get Monday’s clash with United played, but the official County website have now asked for more help with making the surrounding area safe to get the match played.

According to County’s site:

Stockport County are appealing for volunteers to help them clear snow and ice from the Railway End and Pop Side ahead of Monday’s game against Leeds United.

The covers are now on the pitch and this, aided by hot air blowers, will giver the surface the best possible chance of being playable, but there are safety concerns about the terraces.

Fans are asked to come along on Sunday (Dec 27) with spades and, if possible, wheelbarrows, from 10.30am. Please use the main entrance at the Cheadle End of the ground.

Your help and support would be very much appreciated.

So there you go.

* Team news from County’s clash today with MK Franchise will be posted as soon as we get it later in the day.
