County have today confirmed that Didi Hamann has signed Nabil Bounab, Jon Routledge, Keigan Parker and Tom Elliott to deals at Edgeley Park.

Routledge is a former Wigan Athletic midfielder, and is very highly-rated by people at The DW Stadium. The 21 year-old also had a spell at Hamilton Academical last season, and turned down a move back to Accies to join Hamann at County.

Parker is a journeyed striker, who’s had spells at Oldham Athletic and Blackpool amongst others. The Scotsman was most recently at Fleetwood Town on loan.

Elliot joins on a free transfer after being released by Hamilton at the end of last season, the youngster had been on trial with the Hatters for most of this pre-season before signing.

And finally Bounab, a big centre-back who’s had spells at Auxerre and Fréjus-Saint-Raphaël of France.

Another new boy, Carl Piergianni of Peterborough United, joins Elliott and OTHER new boy Ryan McCann in still waiting on clearance to be able to play tomorrow.

Well here we are, I wondered at times if ever we would arrive at this point. Many, many issues and concerns with the club still to be actioned. All we as ordinary supporters can do is give the team the best vocal support we can. Not many teams have the vocal support that County has, win lose or draw. You can always tell a club that has poor vocal support. When they trot out on to the pitch or when they score they play loud music to cover up the silence of their supporters, we dont need that.

Good luck at FGR. But don’t underestimate them, it’s a tough start. They will be youthful and vibrant and eager for a major scalp in their first game.
