Stockport County take on Grimsby Town in the Northern Area Semi-Final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy this evening, with one of the sides just three games away from Wembley.

Grimsby visited Edgeley Park in the league just a few weeks ago, with that game ending 1-1. A similar result tonight would see the game head straight to penalties.

Kick off is at 7:15pm, with the earlier start to try and attract more children to Edgeley Park.

It is County’s first home game of the competition this season, with County coming through to this stage via a bye, and then good away wins at Macclesfield and Carlisle United.

Tickets are cheaper than normally with season ticket holders getting in for just £5, and normal adults getting in for the cheaper price of £10.

Vital Quotes:

Jim Gannon on County’s three straight wins: ‘There’s a real confidence culture about them at the moment – long may it continue.’

Been a big part of County’s three game run with some fantastic saves. He could be the hero tonight, with a clean sheet at least ensuring that the game would go to penalties should County not score.
