Mansfield Town visit Edgeley Park today to come up against a County team that hasn’t been beaten at home since the end of September.

Since then only Macclesfield have taken any points home from Edgeley Park.

County also come into the game on the back of five straight wins.

The game also marks the return to Edgeley Park of Matty Hamshaw, the ex County captain, and when he played against County in the return fixture in August, Hamshaw got the late equaliser for Mansfield.

Vital Quotes:

Jim Gannon: ‘Mansfield have done well. They’ve made some shrewd signings and the manager has got them going. Their form has been good so it’ll be tough and they’ll be confident coming to Egdeley Park but we’ll be looking forward to it.’

Stockport County Team News:

Tes Bramble will make the bench at best.

Dominic Blizzard STARTS.

Team

Hennessey, Clare, Williams, Owen, Rose, Poole, Blizzard, Taylor, Pilkington, Proudlock, Elding.

Player to watch: Dom Blizzard

Making his debut on loan from Watford, will be trying to prove that he can play in the midfield for County and will eventually go back to Watford in the first team.

Mansfield Town Team News:

Jake Buxton returns from suspension, but Barry Conlon will still miss out with his suspension.

Player to watch: Matthew Hamshaw

Anybody else? The ex player will probably get booed and will look to prove a point to the County fans and Gannon.

Hartlepool beat Walsall- damn we’re still a long way from automatic – we’re the most in-form team in the country

Last time we won 6 on the bounce was 14/9/96 to 2/10/96 but some of them were in the cup. We won 6 in a row 04/01/1992 to 04/02/1992 where we only conceded 2 but some of them were in the cup as well. Will be a massive game and atmosphere against Walsall, providing we beat Accrington we will be going for the first 8 wins in a row since 09/11/1929 to 26/12/1929 (I think). Don’t think County have ever won and kept 6 clean sheets in a row

Cannot wait for the Walsall game. They are wobbling a bit right now. Hope the match agaisnt Accrington ends in a win and no injuries. This is where squad depth kicks in. Anyone know when Tes is back? AP looked well off the pace. Hope there’s no ‘problem’ there.

Maybe AP has not benefited from being the second best striker and having AE in

I have no evidence to base this on but I agree with you Tom. Maybe AP likes to be top dog and his nose is out of joint? AE is No1 now … Tes No2? This is where Jimbos man-management comes into play. AP has more than enough talent to impress in L1 let alone L2 – lets hope we see the talent shine at Stanley on Saturday.
