Jim Gannon will be without two of his new boys for tonight’s friendly with University College Dublin.

Matty McNeill, who picked up a bug and did not cross the Irish Sea with the squad, and Gary Dicker, who picked up a knee injury, will both not be risked.

Dicker was bought from UCD, and many were looking forward to seeing the central midfielder making his debut in County colours against his old teammates.

More serious injuries are keeping Rob Clare, Michael Bowler and Michael Rose out of the game tonight.

Rob Clare has been told to rest for a month after picking up tendonitis, whilst Michael Bowler, who missed a large chunk of last season with his patella problem, will again miss out with a knee problem.

It’s more positive news for Michael Rose, who is recovering well from his cruciate ligament problem but he will not feature tonight.

The whole squad travelled over to Dublin, apart from Matty McNeill who was ill and not injured.

Players that should feature include new goalkeeper Chris Adamson, now a permanent player Gareth Owen and skipper Ashley Williams, the ever running midfielder Jason Taylor and the top goalscorer Anthony Elding.

Several trialists may feature, however nothing has been announced about any possible trialists featuring.

Kick off time tonight is 7:45 and we will have a report after and then views on the game from fans who travelled tomorrow, here on Vital Football.

Look forward to the report Jack. Good to be getting back into the swing of things. Seems ages since the season ended.
