County take on Colwyn Bay tomorrow in the FA Trophy at Edgeley Park.

It is a 3pm kick-off and it is just

£10 for adults,
£7 for senior citizens,
£7 for those aged 18-21,
just £3 for those aged 11 -17
and a mere £1 for aged 10 and under!

A very quick potted history of the Trophy taken from the FA site is below.

‘Clubs from the leagues immediately below the Football League had no realistic chance of playing in a Wembley Final before the FA Council decided to start an ‘FA Challenge Trophy` competition in 1969. It was open to all non-Football League clubs registering professional players.’

‘Macclesfield Town, then Northern Premier League champions, were the first Trophy winners and 28,000 saw them beat Telford United 2-0 at Wembley.’

‘The Trophy is now in its 44th season. There have been 37 Wembley Finals, plus five at Villa Park and one at Upton Park.’

Well, County are playing at the Third Qualifying Round stage and £4,000 is up for grabs.

Win this and it’s the FA Trophy first round proper. To those unfamilair with this competition there are rounds 2,3 and 4 then a semi-final before Wembley.

A long road.
