Adam Griffin and David Poole have both stayed in League Two and have been signed up by promotion chasing Darlington after being released by Stockport County.

Jim Gannon decided that Poole and Griffin didn’t meet requirements, and with the emergence of Tommy Rowe and the signing of Leon McSweeney in January it was decided that Poole and Griffin would be on their way.

David Poole signed for County after a successful loan spell from Yeovil Town, the same happened with Adam Griffin except he was on loan from Oldham Athletic.

Both enjoyed on and off periods, Griffin on the left hand side, Poole on the right hand side.

Griffin was part of the team that stayed up on the last day of the season against Carlisle three seasons ago, and signed permanently the following summer.

Poole has only seen glory at County and it must be tough for him to move on after playing in a successful team.

Both were part of the team in the nine-game run, and both had particularly good moments at County.

David Poole put County ahead at Premiership Watford, and also scored a memorable equaliser in the 93rd minute at Bradford City away in the 07/08 season.

Griffin scored some important goals for County, the most important was probably the winner at Accrington Stanley away, the 1-0 win was one of the famous nine game run for Stockport County.

We wish them all the best in League Two next season, and thank them for their great efforts.
