Hatters Half Marathon !

Think all is quiet in the world of Stockport County?

Think again! Aside from the small matter of the club appointing a new manager, there are those working away for the benefit of our club.

The Stockport County Supporters Co-operative have been beavering away and have announced the Hatters Half Marathon!

A great initiative, that not only promotes Stockport County Football Club within the local area but also raises the profile of the borough nationally!

Entries for the Hatters Half Marathon, promoted by Stockport County Supporters Cooperative, and sponsored by Stockport`s own Robinson`s Brewery,Sweat Shop and our media partner Pure 107.8, had only been open for a matter of minutes when the first runners signed up via the Run Britain link

A Mr & Mrs Taylor, from Plymouth registered and paid to participate in the half marathon, which the Supporters Cooperative is proud to run in support of Stockport homeless charity the Wellspring.

Mrs Taylor was very complementary about the cost of entering the race, which she said compared very favourably with the price paid to run races elsewhere, and the couple are already looking for hotel accommodation in Stockport for the weekend of the race!

Take note local businesses and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council – County are still alive and kicking and can bring wider benefits to the community!
