Stockport County fans will be jumping off bridges this Saturday as County have now gone two Saturday’s without a match.

With Mansfield reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup against Middlesbrough, County’s league game against Mansfield was postponed.

So Stockport County arranged with Manchester City to have the Manchester Senior Cup game played at Edgeley Park on Saturday instead – at least offering County fans something to do.

Ashley Williams and Gareth Owen were set to get a run out after weeks on the sidelines, Dominic Blizzard was set to continue his comeback – but now nothing will happen.

The pitch is still holding ‘alot’ of surface water, and County choose to postpone the game to protect the pitch ahead of the more important league clash against Chesterfield on Tuesday night at Edgeley Park.

HOWEVER, Sale’s live televised game on Friday night still goes ahead at Edgeley Park? Surprised? No chance.

Expect to see a beach on Tuesday night in Stockport, and not for the first time in the last few years.

Anybody with a spare £4.5 million could you please get in contact with the club via fans@stockportcounty.com – it would be appreciated. Cheers.
