Stockport County have rejected a second bid from Hartlepool for striker Anthony Elding.

Elding joined County last year from Boston United for a fee thought to be around £50,000.

Since then has scored 25 goals for County, and his valuation is now up around the £300,000 mark.

However Hartlepool have reported to have offered around just £75,000 (according to our fellow Vital Hartlepool site).

Anto has scored 14 goals for County this season, when you add to that the fact that he went six games without scoring at one point it shows what a good goalscorer he is.

He scored a hattrick at Brentford, and has scored in the last four league games against Accrington, Notts County, Morecambe and Wrexham.

Rumours are also flying around about the possibility of ex County player Ian Moore being involved in the deal. Ian Moore has been placed on the transfer list at Hartlepool, and he could be part of any deal.

Hartlepool have till next Thursday to make any further bids should they wish to sign Anthony during this transfer window.

    My mistake! Sorry.

No problem, what’s this Elding like then? Strong? Pacy?

  • StockportJack says:

He’s quite strong, he’s a good finisher, he isn’t bad in the air, he can take penalties. Not sure about pacy, he can run but he isn’t as quick as some of the other players, he certainly isn’t slow though. I’d say that you are looking between £250k-£300k if you want him.
