Keeper signs

A big piece of the 2014-15 ‘County promotion drive’ (really – ed) has been slotted into position with the signing of experienced stopper Danny Hurst.

Hurst is 33 years old and joins us from Southport. He has also played for Barrow and Fleetwood, so knows this level of football well.

Hopefully this will keep young Ormson on his toes and bring his game on. It will be interesting to see which keeper starts in our first league game.

I know Ormson has his detractors and also his supporters – but a solid signing like this is what County could do with more of.

Apparently Alan Lord has been after Mr Hurst for a while and is quoted as saying:

‘Danny is somebody that I have watched and admired for several years. He has a mass of experience and has won this league previously. He is a great communicator and has a real air of authority in a crucial area of the pitch”

Still think we need 6 or so other experienced recruits before we kick off the season.

Building the squad is like doing a jig-saw puzzle but to my mind at the moment we have the border completed and one or two other pieces floating around.

Some way to go yet.

Welcome to the club Danny!
