A third string County line up grabbed a 4-4 draw with Kendal Town last night at at the Planet Stadium.

Liam Dickinson, Greg Tansey and Tommy Rowe were the only real first teamers involved in the match,

Chris Coward gave County the lead after about ten minutes, he got on the end of Tommy Rowe’s corner.

But Kendal hit back when Gareth Arnison headed into the back of the net to equalise. 1-1.

Liam Dickinson then scored a spectacular overhead kick after half an hour after another Tommy Rowe assist, 2-1 to County.

Then Greg Tansey bettered Dickinson with a spectacular thirty-yard effort that left the Kendal keeper with no chance.

But straight after half time Kendal turned the game right around with three goals.

Peter Wright, John Forbes and then Craig Hobson scored the three goals that saw Kendal come from 3-1 down to 4-3 up.

But with just ten minutes to go County grabbed an equaliser as Paul Turnbull set up Paul Ennis to score.

County: Ben Imeson (Matty Bell), Jake Wood, Lee Williams, Gianluca Havern (Alex Elliott), Tommy Rowe, Dan Ellis, Greg Tansey (Paul Turnbull), James Vincent, Paul Ennis, Liam Dickinson (Martin Smeaton), Chris Coward.

So there is County’s pre season done and dusted.

Ten games, one defeat, four victories and five draws. 31 goals scored and 18 goals conceded.

It was certainly an interesting one!

  • Been hearing good things about young Chris Coward. Anyone know much about this lad? One for next season?

  • Our defence needs to tighten up a bit but then again we haven’t been playing our first team in every match
