Kiddy v County. Crunch time.

OK. Suspend your disbelief.

The mission is Conference Premier Survival. Saturdays game against Kidderminster Harriers must be one of the most important games in County’s 130 year history.

For relegation to be avoided, this is how it must pan out.

County go to Kidderminster Harriers and win. Then one of the following three events need to occur;

Tamworth at home do not beat mid-table Woking (this is the most likely of the three I reckon) OR
Gateshead lose at home to relegated Ebbsfleet OR
Lincoln get hammered away at Hyde.

It is possible you know, though you can get 8 to 1 on County winning at Kiddy and 14-1 ON County being relegated (though few bookies are even taking bets on that scenario).

How big is the task? Well Kidderminster at home are not invincible. Won 14 Drawn 4 and lost 4 this season. They do score a few though, 45 in fact but then again they have conceded 22.

When Kiddy played at Edgeley Park back in October, County won 1-0 (Newton pen) and they were at that stage of the season ‘lowly Kidderminster’.

They looked decent though and the Harriers then went on a super run to top the league and only recently relinquish first place to Mansfield.

Kiddy’s last ten games have yielded 8 wins, 1 draw and a defeat to to Gateshead. Pretty impressive stuff.

Anthony Malbon is top scorer with 17.

There have also been goals from Amari Morgan-Smith, Danny Jackman, Danny Pilkington, Keith Briggs and James Vincent amongst others.

Just saying like.

We have to believe County can take advantage of a nervous home side who will be hoping Hereford do not lose to Mansfield. Mansfield would then go up as champions and Kidderminster would be into the playoffs.

So a couple of early Mansfield goals would not go amiss.

The blue and white army will no doubt roar our boys on.

Four official coaches, a Fingerpost coach, a Peels on Wheels coach, a stream of cars and Birmingham Moor Street to Worcester trains will disgorge Hatters fans who, if they get there early enough can have a day out on the Severn Valley Railway (5:15 kick off remember).

Or find a local hostelry to oil their vocal chords in readiness for a battle royal (blue).

I am sure the team that walks out on the pitch will fight like heck to win after being fired up by an Ian Bogie sermon and roared on by the crowd will for once do the magnificent travelling support proud.

Dartfoard game. Nah. Can’t remember that one.

There is a M.E.N. article here and a Kidderminster Forum here

We have to believe don’t we?

I shall be there and I shall cheer to the end regardless of the result. But to be quite honest I think there is more chance of finding rocking horse poo than a win at Kiddy.
