Adam Le Fondre has extended his loan at Rochdale by another month.

However, County have included a 24 hour recall in the contract, knowing that with a vital month coming up Le Fondre could be needed at any time.

Le Fondre scored twice on his debut for Rochdale in their 5-0 win against MK Dons, and has also played an instrumental part in the games at Walsall and Notts County – is Jim Gannon doing this to help County’s promotion push?

With Anthony Elding, Tes Bramble, Adam Proudlock, Michael Malcolm, Anthony Pilkington and Liam Dickinson County have no shortage of strikers at the moment, and Jim Gannon has done the best thing by sending out Alfie to a team that is willing to play him and to improve his match fitness and sharpness.

The games Le Fondre will be at Rochdale for are Torquay United, Accrington Stanley and Darlington at home and Hereford United and Chester City away from home.

Incidentally, the next game after those five is Rochdale’s visit to County, what’s the betting he’ll be back for that?
