This months poll looked generally at the Stockport County squad and which positions needed improving – the results are in.
Ok, so the squad is pretty thin already and we definitely need more players in a few positions. However, last month`s poll was asking you which position we needed to improve the most and one came out on top by a rather large margin.
Out of the four options, we probably need a player in at least three of them – maybe four of them.
We are short on goalkeepers, midfielders and we don`t seem to have an out and out goal scoring striker.
However, 55% of you said that the midfield needed improving the most and personally I would have to agree. We don`t seem to have a left winger or a right winger, and we are short on central midfielders with only Tony Dinning really been added to the squad that is capable of playing week in week out.
22% of you said that we needed a new striker more than anything else. I can see both sides of the argument on this. We don`t seem to have a striker that can score goals for fun, but then again Tes Bramble was in good form last season and maybe him and Le Fondre or Dickinson could make a good partnership this season.
12% of you said that we needed a new goalkeeper, and this is probably one of the most important. At the moment we only have Spencer who is capable of playing in the first team, and I think that`s one of the main reason why Jimbo has taken a new goalkeeper on trial to Ibiza. However he is only 17 – but if your good enough your old enough?!
And finally 11% of you said that we needed a new defender. That is probably right that this finishes last because we have Briggs, Clare, Williams, Raynes, Owen, Tunnicliffe, Rose and Robinson who can all play and play well. We should be ok with the defence that we have got.
So this months winner is that we need to improve the midfield the most, but which option will you take in the next poll.
