Time for another poll and for you to vote as the readers – after our last poll focussed on Gary Ablett, it’s time to move onto the players in the County side!
The poll which has just concluded was Would you like County to stick with Gary Ablett for next season in (most likely) League Two?
Pleasingly (in my opinion!), 79% of you said that we need to back Ablett.
My opinion is that he’s shown us what kind of players he can attract, and let’s see how we do in League Two with the Scouser.
Our next poll focuses, as I said, on the players. All of Ablett’s signings in the transfer window have been pretty solid, but I ask you if you had to pick ONE player from the brilliant six new loanees to permanently sign up (in Swailes and Partridge’s case, for another year), who would it be?
Your options are: David Perkins, George Donnelly, Jabo Ibehre, Jemal Johnson, Danny Swailes or Richie Partridge.

Has to be Ibehre. Perkins won’t drop down to L2 but I’m positive that Jabo can become a cult hero if he stays.
Tough call. Perkins just a tiny bit ahead of Iberhe. I think we may actually have a chance of keeping Perkins next season as well.
Heard rumours that Perkins and Jabo are both on ‘loan with view to a permanent’ deals…too good to be true?
Apparently Perks IS on that deal Sam, though Jabo’s was just an extended emergency loan. We’re forgetting Donnelly here, whose looked a real handful and could be a possibility as Mariner at Plymouth doesn’t seem to rate him..
Well, TBH I would be very surprised if Perkins ever plays for Colchester again. Think we’ll let him go for a small fee or for free, reckon he’s on a fair bit of cash with us though…!
