Gary Ablett is considering today whether to include two of the four trialists from the 1-0 defeat to Bury in the matchday squad for the visit of Walsall on Saturday.

YT Coach saw his side go down 1-0 to a young Bury side in the Senior Cup, but came out of the tie most impressed with the performances of Frenchman Goffin Boyoko and free agent centre-back Matt Brown.

Brown may well be included in the squad as Ablett looks to try something different after the thrashing at Millwall and maybe give Paul Huntington a rest, while the Scouser is still weighing up his midfield options before making a decision whether to include the former Lille midfielder or not.

The two other trialists, Stoke Academy striker Adam Vickers, and Boyoko’s fellow Frenchman Cedric Ngakam, have also continued training with the senior squad this week.

More team news for tomorrow’s match pretty much when we get it.
