Southend United away in the FA Cup

It is hardly a tie that strikes you as ‘magic of the FA Cup’. Infact most ignorant Football fans would think both teams still play at the same sort of level.

County have played Southend many times over the last few years, and it isn’t a tie that would be clashed as mouth watering.

230 miles from Stockport, £50 minimum on the train, £20 entrance fee (if it is league prices) – it would be a pricey day for anyone who wants to make the trip down to Southend.

The last time County visited Roots Hall we did get a 1-1 draw when Donnelly fired County into the lead in the first game of the season (we ended up being relegated) but Southend scored a late equaliser.

Most are expecting County to exit the cup here – but who knows where Southend’s priorities lie and if we could get a draw and get them back to Edgeley Park then you never know what would happen.

Come on County!

Not for me this one. Will listen on the radio. Probable exit but you never know.

I think that County’s priority this season should be to consolidate in the top half of the table. You never know they may get a surprise result at Southend and that would be a bonus, but I wont be too disappointed if they get knocked out.

Is Liam Dickinson still at Southend? I think his loan to Port Vale ended when they had financials.

I had forgotten Dicko was at Southend. Latest I can find is that he is without a club, Surely that cannot be right. I know he likes to party but what a shame if his career has ended aged 27.
