The People report that Jamie Ward has signed a two-year deal for Torquay United.

Torquay are said to have beat off competition from County, Wrexham and Chesterfield for the former Aston Villa man who was on loan at County for the last part of the season.

Ward, 20, made 7 starts and 2 substitute appearances for County and scored 1 goal against Shrewsbury. He played a huge part in helping County stay in the league, and became a player that many County fans wanted to see at Edgeley Park permanently.

I hope that the People are wrong and that Ward can still come here. I don’t see why he would choose Torquay over County unless he is only after money?

Hopefully they will just get out of the league we are in. Awful long journey down there. So when we go up next season, I hope they stay down.

I hope that I am reporting something that isn’t true out of the People like when I put about Dicko joining Burnley.

Jim is on holiday, so maybe nothing is finalised yet so the papers have decided to start speculating?

If true this is a bit of a sickener. Cant see him getting more money down there. Perhaps thats where he used to go on his holidays when he was a kid. Dont all Brummies go there on holiday?

Hope this is red top talk. Just cannot see why he would go to Torquay. Lets hope this is bulls***
