Ablett In Confident Mood

County boss Gary Ablett is confident that the Hatters can go to Huddersfield and pick up their second win of the season, despite a number of injury concerns.

Winger Oli Johnson went for a scan on a troublesome achilles injury that has been plaguing him for a number of weeks, and is now expected to miss out on the trip to the Galpharm on Saturday.

Peter Thompson picked up a knock in the reserve team’s brilliant 5-1 win over Everton today (a game in which ‘Pistol Pete grabbed two goals), though he’ll probably be fit for Saturday.

Ablett, however, is upbeat about his side’s chances and hopes his side ‘can put on a good show.’

‘I’ve tried hard to express to the lads how important it is to have belief and express yourself.’

‘We’ve got a difficult game this weekend at Huddersfield, but we can go there with confidence.’

Adam Griffin also got on the score-sheet in the win today, overseen by Hughie McAuley, who gave his thoughts to County’s official site:

‘Griff got 25 minutes or so and took his goal very well, and we were also able to use a number of Craig’s youth team and they did brilliantly. It was a great exercise.’

I can see us coming unstuck and getting thumped by three. Still… beers in Marsden beforehand should nullify the pain a bit!
