County entertain Newport – Preview

Weather permitting, County host high-flyers Newport County in a must-not-lose fixture.

New gaffer Ian Bogie’s first game will be against a Newport County side who have recorded 5 wins from their last 7 games. Newport lie in 4th place but with enough games in hand to top the division. They have already won ten times on their travels, banging in 36 goals away from home.

So a heck of a difficult game for County at the best of times but with a new manager trying to find his best side… well… there is not enough time for that. The side Bogie picks has to click and has to fight from the 1st minute to the last.

With hand on heart I cannot see this happening – my head says County will be beaten. My heart says the new manager will find something in the squad of players that has been missed in the last few games and that County will scrap like mad to earn a point. My goodness we certainly need to take something from this fixture.

Looking at the table again… Telford are sunk but they travel to Lincoln. A Lincoln victory ?

Barrow are at home to Ebbsfleet. Could Ebbsfleet snatch a draw?

Hereford are at home to Hyde.

If I had to guess what the table would be like come 4:45pm tomorrow I would say we will be in that bottom four.

So we better hope that Newport meet their ‘Bogieman’ and return to South Wales with less than three points.

Tough times!

Oh, the Pop Side will be open tomorrow. I am seeking shelter at the back of the Main Stand I think.

A large dollop of Animo et Fide needed !

I think McNight has got a bloody cheek telling us supporters that we need to get behind the team. The one group of people that have been doing their bit for the club for years suffering this dross is us the supporters. In fact had he done his job properly instead of trying to implement his football club theories we might have had a better chance of avoiding another drop. Instead we get a half hearted apology and told we need to get behind the team. Then just to rub salt in the wound he wants us to pay more for the privilege probably down a division.

No ST for me if we drop. Enough is enough. These clowns may have sunk us. I think the manager may be a good un but it could be too late now. Bloody amateurs at the helm again.

What a difference a win makes, we out fought and out played Newport – felt proud to be a COUNTY Fan again. This for me is the best we have played for 90 mins for a long long time – thank you Alan Lord & Ian Bogie, if we play like this until the end of the season then we should be ok.
I’m like you greyhound should we drop then no ST for me either as I can only put myself through so much and the last 4+ seasons have been dire. I’m backing Ian Bogie until the final whistle of the season – lets all get behind the Team for what will hopefully be the last push to safety. COME ON COUNTY !!!!!!
