Stockport County have moved to Stockport Sports as a new permanent training ground.

With current links to the land owners through current Directors the deal is not thought to be costing County much money, if any at all.

The rumours were that Jim Gannon was unhappy with practising on an part-artifical surface, which is why County trained at Cheadle Town rather than the Woodley base.

But yesterday County held their first training session at the Woodley Sports complex where Stockport Sports FC (formerly Woodley Sports) play their games.

Many of the players seemed positive about the move through Twitter, with some comments below. Apologies for the poor English language.

Matty Mainwaring Training done! Happy with new training ground!

Danny Hattersley V good training session this morning! Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Alex Meaney Good session today!! Bring on the rest of the week.

Sean Newton Quality first training session under the new Gaffa, and our new training ground is sick.

Jordan Fagbola Decent session today. New facilities are class.

Tom Collins Better new training ground, facilities are dece.

County has made me neurotic. Any change fills me with dread. Is it true another influential fan and sponsor is no longer welcome through the turnstiles at EP. And In fact he has been banned?

    SCFC and RESB have ‘un-friended’
SCFC and Jim Gannon have ‘un-friended’
    SCFC and Fitzy have ‘un-friended’
SCFC and a chunk of the loyal fanbase have ‘un-friended’

This is how my grand kids would comment. Me? I’d say SCFC need a major PR drive with the fans. Pronto.
