County Statement – Evans’ bid meeting postponed

The following statement regarding Tony Evans’ bid to take a majority stake in County has been released by SCFC.

The shareholders meeting which was scheduled for this morning, to discuss Tony Evans proposals, has been postponed until further notice.

‘We have two outstanding matters that need to be resolved before any proposal can be put before the shareholders. The first is a financial matter involving, in Tony Evans view, a sum of £200,000 which he feels existing shareholders should contribute immediately. This figure is disputed by shareholders who collectively feel that these are not debts but are part of the day to day costs of the football club.’

‘It is hoped that further negotiation will take place in order that a compromise between the two sides can be reached.’

‘The shareholders, at this time, still do not know the composition of the Tony Evans’ consortium. This information is essential before any transaction goes ahead.’

‘On behalf of the football club and the shareholders I hope that the continued negotiations will bring about a successful conclusion.’

Lord Peter Snape, Chairman

So, ‘no deal’ looking the most likely outcome then.

And this latest statement comes after Conduit (Rod Gunner’s group) met with Stockport Council this past week regarding a take-over of County.

The group now seem favourites to take over the club.

Let’s see what Evans can muster up in reply.

Tony Evans has decided not to advice his backers to invest money into the club. BUT if you look on COWS it will tell you that Tony is still a director of the club. Lets just hope that he doesn’t upset the apple cart if anyone else want’s to invest!!!
He could vote against any future investment. I believe he has said that he may make a statement in the future regarding taking the club over lock stock and barrel. We will have to wait and see.

Well MA, whilst we wait it is good to have some of these great memories put on the internet. The egg and bacon at Edgeley Sheds after a Friday night game had left me feeling sad for the young kids today, but what a great memory!

Friday nights, best night of the week COUNTY NIGHT. Watching the likes of Johnny Price,Len Alchurch,Billy Haydock,Freddie Goodwin,Matt Woods,Eddie Stuart,Keith East, Mighty Jim Fryatt, Colin Parry & Co. What a Team but now back to reality we need to beat Grimsby on Saturday otherwise we will drop even further away. By the comments that have been raised on this site I’m guessing that we are all of a similar age so there is every chance that we have stood shoulder to shoulder during the darker times when gates were around 1200 mark, what we need to do now is all drag along a mate or 2, fill the Cheadle End and ROAR the BOYS ALONG as I’m guessing it’s confidence
in front of goal that we lack. See you all on Saturday.
Faith and Courage !!! COME ON COUNTY !!!!

Rousing post BAM. I remember when there were gates of 2,000 and standing on the Pop Side in the cold. Then onto the Greyhound, Amoury and the Swan to warm up. Main stand for me tomorrow to see a 1-0 County win and 3 points. BLUE ARMY !

One of my two 60 year old dreams has been achieved – Lancashire have won the County Championship! Brilliant!! Well done! The other is for County to win the Premier League!! Perhaps I should modify this second dream to the (Blue Square) Premier League!!

  • BlueArmyMike says:

I hope all your dreams come true CFIF and we can start by getting a win on saturday along with a bag full of goals. COME ON YOU HATTERS !!!!!!

  • vicman says:

  • BlueArmyMike says:

That was better on Saturday, clean sheet and 2 goals for once.
BRING ON NEWPORT, Back to Back wins next. COME ON COUNTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a feeling we would win. We need the match report published to start chewing over the game. I really hope this is a sign of the team beginning to bed in and get stronger. Newport… I think we can sneak all 3 there!
